From the Owen Art Studios' exclusive classic-vintage photo collection, this historic black and white picture of motorcycle racing from the 1980s has been beautifully restored.
Eddie Lawson and Wes Cooley are shown in battle during the early days of AMA Superbike motorcycle road racing.
Lawson on his famous #21 Kawasaki KZ1000 took the crown away from Cooley in 1981. Cooley on his #34 "Pops" Yoshimura Suzuki GS1000 had won the AMA Superbike Championship the two previous years and had also won the prestigious Suzuka 8-Hour endurance race in Japan in 1978 with Mike Baldwin, and again in 1979 with Graeme Crosby. Cooley was inducted into the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame in 2004.
